Today, over 8 billion people live across the earth and more than 40% of them are still without a witness of the gospel.

With the unprecedented resources, information and access we have, gospel poverty is one of the great injustices of our day. MAPS Global exists to do something about it. Unreached People Groups (defined as people groups who have less than 5% Christian adherents and 2% Evangelical Christians) are those who have little to no access to Gospel resources or to communities of believers who can lead them to the saving knowledge of Jesus. This requires outside help.

Today, 57% of the world lives in global cities filled with millions of people. It is expected that by 2050, almost 70% of the world’s population will live in global cities. This is the new frontier of missions. We have spent the last twelve years working in strategic global cities across the Middle East, Arab Gulf, North Africa and Central Asia, supporting indigenous leaders and planting Missions Bases centered around prayer and worship, training and development, and community and outreach. Our Missions Bases are acting as ministry hubs for their region and have become catalytic for expansion of worship and gospel work into the unreached peoples of the earth.

If Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:14 are true... “And this Gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout all the world as a testimony to all nations [ethnos], and then the end will come” ... then something dramatic is about to happen. As the globe’s population gathers into the cities, we are about to see more accomplished for global missions than all of church history combined! The harvest truly is plentiful, but we need your help to fund this work. We want to expand to seven Missions Bases on the Frontier by 2028.

1% for the Frontier is a commitment that businesses, organizations and churches can make to donate 1% of their annual revenue toward MAPS Global’s vision of filling the nations with worship. Commitments can be made for one, three or five years. This 1% commitment far outpaces the average Christian’s impact on unreached peoples and creates a pipeline of resources for pioneering missionaries to excel. These funds fuel the training and sending of missionaries and indigenous leaders into the least resourced but most needed sector of global missions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Gross Revenue is a universally understood and accepted metric that all organizations can calculate. Different Businesses calculate and orient their bookkeeping differently to define Net Profit and EBITDA based on their industry sector. However, everyone can clearly see what their gross revenue is and find 1% if they choose. Will you?

  • For most businesses, this is 1% of their gross revenue. However, we do allow for billable expenses to clients, discounts provided on services and other allowances as deductions to calculate total revenue. Each instance will be reviewed in our certification process. 

  • Both For Profit and Non-Profit Organizations can participate in this program.

  • Donations are made to MAPS Global, a registered church corporation in the state of Virginia with 501 c(3) status in the United States of America. The donations are used to complete MAPS Global’s vision of training and sending missionaries and indigenous workers to plant seven bases of worship and prayer, training and community outreach in global cities across the 10/40 window. A portion of revenue is utilized for the training and development of teams at our Headquarters to plant future bases and a portion of revenue is used for our existing bases that have been planted.

  • To become a member of 1% for the Frontier, we require organizations to submit proof of revenue and proof of their donation to our certification partner. This provides credibility and meaning to each member’s commitment. In addition to certification, a confidentiality and privacy agreement is signed to ensure your organization’s records remain private.
