The Global Prayer Room

The Global Prayer Room is our flagship prayer room at MAPS Global Headquarters. It is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-congregational, and multi-generational community that is hosting God’s presence through worship with prayer. God’s desire is for a beautiful collection of various styles of worship to join together as one voice to fill the capital city of Virginia daily. It is a prayer room “for the city, by the city, to the nations”. Hosting God’s presence is at the center of all that we do, therefore worship and prayer are at the center of all we do.

For the City
We serve the city by regularly praying for the church and the city of Richmond. Anyone is welcome to come to experience the ministry of God’s presence in our prayer room as we host a context for corporate agreement and unity among the churches in the city. In addition, we host a monthly regional gathering for those who are hungry for worship, prayer, and missions.
By the City
In addition to our MAPS Global staff serving in our prayer room, there is a coalition of many local ministries and churches joining together with us every week to keep an ongoing presence of worship and intercession in our city. It’s a beautiful expression of creativity and unity within diversity. Our worship and prayer together increase the spirit of unity among the churches of the city and strengthen the relationships between many believers between congregations.
To the Nations
We believe that Richmond is to be a city that sings of the worth of Jesus and sends to the nations. We view our Global Prayer Room as a greenhouse for laborers to encounter the worth of Jesus, receive kingdom assignments, and be sent singing into the nations. These worshipping missionaries are sent from the greenhouse of our Global Prayer Room into the hardest and darkest places to pray, preach and sing; dispelling darkness with light as Jesus is exalted day and night.
